Wondering if anyone targets perch this late in the season. We usually catch a few incidentals, especially on harnesses, but thinking about giving them a try on purpose. I know in some areas of the Great Lakes there is a shallow movement, remember Saginaw Bay and Lake St. Clair stories of fishing in 4-10' of water and doing well. I have some good spots marked for spring fishing in deeper water, maybe give it a go next week before deer season.
A couple weeks ago some friends of mine found the perch on that shallow weedy flat just outside Butler's Island. But they didn't get to fish long once they found them as the winds got too strong to hold anchor. Might not be a bad spot to try though. I think they said they were in 11 feet of water...
