December 19th Report

Theresa and I got on the ice today for the first time this season. We walked out from the Vagabond and had our lines wet by 3:30 (didn't take tip-ups). We were marking fish right from the get-go. But the vast majority of them were small. I moved outside the shack for the last hour so we could try a couple different spots. The best we could do today was 3 throwbacks each. Theresa caught all three of hers on the size 8 Holographic Blue/Green Ice Darter. I caught one on the size 6 Red Chrome Ice Darter and two on the size 8 Holographic Trout Ice Darter. We didn't get to where I wanted to fish because, to be honest, I ran out of steam and didn't want to walk any further. We will definately be using the snowmobile next time!!! We had a solid 6 inches of ice where we were. Hope to try again Wednesday...
