January 9th=slow morning...

My brother Kenneth and I tried the morning bite today and had our lines in the water by 7:00 am. Kenneth was marking fish right away but could not get them to bite. I didn't mark much of anything until 8:00 or so. Then about 8:15 I caught a nice 18 1/2 inch eater on a size 8 Gold/Orange Tiger Holographic Ice Darter. Ended up catching 3 more 11-12 inchers plus one I had to measure that was just short. Kenneth released several throwbacks until he finally caught one at 9:15 that was just legal. Kenneth caught his on a size 5 "RS" Jigging Rapala jigging 8 feet off bottom . We fished until 10:00 and called it good. Kenneth saw several nice fish that he could not get to bite. I marked 3 others that looked to be keepers. Tough bite, but sure was a beautiful morning to watch a sunrise...
