Though I don't bait, preferring to hunt, rather than simply harvest, I'm still pretty excited about this decision. The whole DNR needs a complete makeover from the top down. The fact that the slot limit was dropped on the recommendation of a single person (Mike Herman/now retired), was just the latest example of an agency that has grown totally out of control with absolutely no accountability to the people they are supposed to serve. The DNR, oops, (now DNRE) needs new blood starting with it's dimwitted director Rebeccah Humphries. Everyone on the Natural Resources Commision should go too. When discussions were happening about the slot limit, my brother Kenneth sent a letter to every single commisioner and did not get a single response. Maybe if they were elected rather than political appointees, one of them might have had the courtesy to respond!
