Some inland lakes plus Little Bay scouting...

Today started off with my brother Kenneth and my dad Bob going out on the bay for a couple hours to find some fish (or eliminate some areas) for tomorrows charter. They didn't catch a whole lot. But neither did they fish any one area for too long either. When Kenneth is on his scouting trips, he doesn't fish any one spot very long. Either the fish are there, or there not. Today, in most spots, they were not! They caught several small walleye plus a 19 inch walleye and a descent pike (both released). Kenneth said there must have been a huge mayfly hatch as the water was covered with their skins. So today, they at least eliminated some areas he won't try again tomorrow. Then this afternoon, my wife Theresa and I decided to go for a ride and fart around shorefishing some inland lakes. First let me say we didn't catch squat on any of the lakes except for Fish Lake up at the Wide Waters on highway 13. This was the first lake we tried and if someone wants to take their grandkids and catch lots of small bluegill from shore, this is the spot. You only have to cast out about 20 feet right off the launch and you will catch plenty of small bluegills. I'm including the video and pictures of the different lakes so folks can see what kind of access there is on these lakes. You will notice, no docks at any of these four lakes. So anyway, in order, Fish Lake=bluegills, Irwan Lake=nothing, Corner Lake=didn't try as it was too shallow, Round Lake=couple small bites, but nothing hooked. Keep in mind, we were just fishing off the boat landings, I'm sure a person would have much better results using a boat. Something we intend to go back and do on a couple of the lakes. Hopefully the pictures display in the order I upload them. The first picture is sunrise this morning on Little Bay, then the pike Kenneth caught, then Fish Lake, Irwan Lake, Corner Lake, and Round Lake. Ok, time for bed...
