Today's short 5 hr. trip with Gary and Julie from downstate Rockford Michigan started out on the bumby side.  We ventured out of the Escanaba Harbor around 7:30 a.m. and the wind was already blowing pretty good from the south/southwest.  We had to do a lot of sorting this morning, but we eventually got our 15 "eaters".  We were trolling with Walleyes Choice (http://www.walleyeschoice.com) bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses at 1 mph.  At times it was pretty fast and furious and at one point we had 6 fish on at once.  We had three in the bottom of the boat, they were each fighting one, and we still had one line in the water with a fish on it.  We didn't get any big fish today, but there was definitely plenty of action.  I thought that with the wind blowing we'd get into some larger fish like we were getting a week or so ago, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.  There's been some pretty good mayfly hatches in the upper bay recently, but I haven't seen any alewives in the upper bay recently.  We had a water temperature of 74 degrees.  Here's a picture of today's catch, good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.

I would like to know why no one else is posting on this site. Is that the way it's set up or are people just not posting like they did in the past? If Ken, Jim or Catman don't post for 2, 3, or 4 days then there is nothing. I liked the old setup where some one was always adding their two cents even if sometimes they were out in left field, at least it was something. What I'm saying is that there is nothing on an everyday basis and I can understand that if Ken and Jim have nothing to report then they don't but certainly there are other people fishing and I would like more information more often.

I think most people post on www.baysdenoc.com since they made the move to this site.

I would guess that more folks don't post because we require everyone to either sign their post with their full name, or list it in their profile. We haven't fully enforced this policy yet, but are going to start enforcing it from now on...

Good policy in my opinion! Another site we are familiar with has a similar policy of signing ones post with their real name and I must say it keeps it clean, honest and credible. There is yet another site (of which I am a member) that is loaded with garbage like ranting, bickering, bad-mouthing, etc and that site doesn't require any names or anything to show credibility and it shows.  Give this site a little time and it will grow, but it'll grow faster the more we all put into it and spread the word.

I personally feel that not many people are aware of our new site.  Please help us by writing some reports, asking questions, and spreading the word!
