Ice fishing clothing...

Ran into the bookstore in Escanaba tonight. While there I thought I'd check Dunham's to see if they had anything I could use for a snow suit for ice fishing. Really just looking for something waterproof! Anyway, to my surprise, they have both the Frabill ice fishing suits and the Vexilar ice fishing suits in stock! The Frabil was too much for my pocket book, so I ended up with the Vexilar Cold Snap suit http://vexilar.com/pages/wear/wear_cold-snap.php. It's supposed to be waterproof and windproof and that's all I wanted. The parka was $99.99 and the bibs $89.99 . So for $201 and change, I have a new suit for this season. The parka has more pockets than you can shake a stick at. I have never had a suit this nice before and am excited to try it out (probably burn a hole in the damn thing on the heater first time out). Anyway, I just thought I would pass this on in case anyone else is looking for a suit for ice fishing...

Hey Kevin,

Smart choice!!!   You won't be sorry.    I've had mine for 3 yrs now and you can't beat it for warmth, wind and water protection.  Just can't wear the coat  when your drilling holes or setting up unless it's 20 below.  It's too warm!!!.   The bibs are great with the padded waterproof knees when checking tip ups and diving down a hole to grab the hogs.......well, at least checking my tip ups.  Little tip.... have your wife sew half of the pockets shut, or you'll  never find what your looking for.
Anyone looking to stay warm and make a Fashion statement out on the ice should look into these !!!! headbang.gif
Slammer!!!

I was at Dunham's yesterday also. I bought the Clam Yukon TC. It was $499.99 but if you signed up for the rewards program you got money off and I got it for $399.99.
Now I can take the extra money and buy accessories for it. smile.gif GREAT deal
