Had the chance to get out on the ice again yesterday afternoon. I took my neighbor Ted out to see if he could get some fish like we caught on Thursday. It was a much stranger bite yesterday. We all marked lots of fish for a while early, but couldn't get them to commit. Then the current got real strong and the fish seemed to disappear. Then the current quit and it was a fast and furious 30 minutes of action. I landed twin 19 inchers and lost two others, another friend got two keepers, Joe Volpe and his son Brandon landed 3 keepers and Ted managed to lose all 5 fish he had bite. As I was putting things away this morning I took a look at the lure he was using...and...I found out why he was losing his fish. The front hook of his #5 firetiger Rap was bent over (Oops!). I guess after he lost the first couple of fish I should have looked at it...sorry Ted! The nicest thing is that there isn't another person within a 1/2 mile of where we're fishing. Just like Thursday I marked a good 25-30 decent fish. I think yesterday was my last day fishing for walleyes, today my son Cameron wants to fish blue-gills, so I think we'll be hitting an inland lake this evening. Good luck to everybody fishing the last few days of the season!
