Today's short 1/2 day trip was with the Lockhart family from down by the Detroit area. I had planned on doing some jigging this morning, but yesterday's south wind made me change my mind and we decided to troll Walleyes Choice harnesses (http://www.walleyeschoice.com) in some shallower water where the wind had dirtied it up some. I wish we had got on the water an hour earlier than we did because the bite was pretty fast and furious the first 2 hrs. Then the wind let up and with the sun getting higher up in the sky the fish seemed to get a case of lockjaw for the last couple hrs. of the trip. We managed to get 8 nice walleyes, lost several nice walleyes that didn't get hooked good, and we fed the sea-gulls several sheepies! By the time we quit fishing around 11, the water was getting clearer and I was actually pretty happy to end up with the fish we did. They were all nice fish from 17 to 24 inches, and most of them were full of small alewives. We'll be back out there tomorrow with another crew...not sure what we'll do tomorrow with the passing of a small cold front and w / nw winds coming in. Here's a picture of today's fish, good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
