Today's trip started out a little on the chilly side and my clients were actually cold for a while. The wind wasn't quite right for what I initially wanted to so, so we went with plan B and headed to the north end where we got some fish on Friday's trip. After two hrs. of trolling bottom bouncers and harnesses with only one nice fish and several throwbacks...we made a move and decided to get out the jigs. The cool wind quit...and it actually got pretty hot out there. With flat calm conditions, the water temperature finally started to heat up a bit and the fish got active. The water temp. at the north end went from 79 down to 70 after yesterday's north wind, but we found some 75 degree water and the bite was on!!! Between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. we caught 20-25 walleyes and some really nice smallies (which they wanted to keep). We ended up keeping 17 walleyes and the three bass. 11 year old Rachel had a hot hand and is one great fisher-gal. Here's a few pics of today's day on the bay. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
