I launched out of Garden this morning to go looking for some perch. I tried a couple spots without much luck other than a smal rock bass and a small perch. So I thought I'd try some deeper water and that was a waste of time. I figured I'd head back to where I started and was running along aboit 20 MPH and saw some fish on the graph in 19 fow. I dropped the anchor and managed to catch 15 nice keepers with two being jumbos. Not bad if I do say so myself.

nice catch! can't beat that fish fry.... Curious of your tactics in 20ft of water. Do you use slips? Plain hooks? jigs? I always seem to have a hard time getting the bait to stay infront of them... Thanks

Well , if you are going to miscount, better to have a couple extra than a couple less. Unless of course the miscount puts you over the limit! Nice fish buddy...

jbryer10... Not really much of a tactic. I was use a #3 swedish pimple with chartreuce tape on one side. I removed the hook and replaced it with a 2" stinger with a glow in the dark hook. In shallow water I use it just like that but being in 19 fow I put a split shot right against the top split ring. This helps it get to bottom quicker. The best method that I have found is when I'm jigging is to let is settle on the bottom for a second or two and jig it up off the bottom again. Also, in shallow water I cast it out, but for the deeper water I fish right over the side.

Awesome... I appreciate the tips. I like your idea with the stinger. Somewhat like a dropper line. Gonna give that  whirl and see what I come up with. I will let ya know. Thanks
