Well...the day started out a little on the chilly side, but the fishing action started out hot.  The only thing was we could not keep hooks into the fish today.  I had the pleasure of sharing the boat with Guy and Debbie and no-matter what we did the fish just kept coming off.  We tried feeding it to them a little longer, we tried setting the hooks right away, we tried reeling them in slow, tried reeling them in faster, it just didn't matter.  We should have had almost a two person limit on our first pass.  It was just a quick 5 hr. trip this morning and we ended up with 6 nice "eaters" for them to enjoy on the rest of their vacation in Manistique.  By 11:30 it seemed that the fish had hunkered down to bottom again and the bite was tapering, but from 7 until about 10:30 this morning it was a pretty good bite.  All of our fish came on Walleyes Choice (http://www.walleyeschoice.com) harnesses trolled behind bottom bouncers.  Our best colors were I-62, I-42, and I-34.  No particular color was better, we caught fish equally on all three.  We did get some fish on I-76 too after the sun got up there pretty high.  We probably released about 8 to 10 little eyes, but the majority of the bites today were nicer fish.  It's very frustrating when you lose that many fish.  evileye  Water temp. has dropped down to 62 degrees (unfortunately), but it looks like the next week or so we're going to have some nice stable weather which should produce a decent bite.  Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
