Went to sit tonight, jumped a coyote on way to stand.... Bleet Grunted and could hear steps shortly after.. At 5yds thick brush out comes a buck (he is walkin a little funny left rear leg) right under my tree and out to 13yds. I had a shot (quartering away) that I have made b4 but opt. to hold out for better shot... He never knew I was there but all the sudden he bolts into the thick. Fn yotes started yippin in the woods not far away and that was the last I seen of um... Grrrr... Coulda rushed the shot and probably tagged out but never did like a quartering away shot... Think I did the right thing but for now I am playin it through my head thinkin I had a good spine shot and two or three other chances at a good shot... Just told myself to wait and this time it didn't pay off.... oh well that's life.... All I know is some preditor's gotta die.. Never target them but now it is time.... They are messin with me and must go...
We have a lot of yotes around here. I sleep with my window open some and hear them through out the night all the time. You did right by passing on the buck.
You'll get 'em next time. Lots of coyotes around here too. Too many if you ask me. I'll bet there would be alot more grouse, turkey, and maybe even deer if we didn't have so many stinking coyotes!!!
