If they would just bite, and if they would just stay on the hook, I would have had my limit this evening. But all of them didn't bite, and they didn't stay on the hook either!!! Theresa and I got on the ice about 4:00 fishing in 36 feet of water and it was dead until about 6:00. Finally a nice fish showed on the graph and I fussed with it for about 5 minutes getting the darn thing as high as 10 feet off bottom, but just could not get it to hit the green glow tiger. I then switched over to a code four upside down secret CIA edition prototype lure. That's code for a #9 Parrot Jigging Rap that I painted the top purple... So the lure wasn't down 5 minutes when a 22 incher smoked it. I was fishing outside and ran to the shack for a picture and also to tease my wife since she didn't think I would ever catch a fish because of the tacky paint job I did. So I get back to my hole and as soon as I dropped the lure back down I had another nice fish take a look. This one too would follow it way off bottom, but not commit and finally swam off. Fish #4 smoked it again and I got it to the hole just to have the jig get stuck on the ice and the fish come off!!! It looked like the 22 incher's twin. Had 4 more fish come thru that I could not get to hit before it ended. It was still a pretty fun half hour or so. For whatever reason, Theresa only marked a couple fish and only had one hit that she missed. I just finished eating my fish, we'll see what Theresa has to say about that in the morning...
