Went out on the bay this morning with a couple of friends to try it for the first time. I only marked 5 decent fish and couldn't get any of them to commit! My buddy Jeremy did finally pick up a 25 incher on a #9 chartreuse and white jigging rap. Was planning on making an afternoon trip, but got called into work. Been pretty busy with bait customers all day, but most of the fishermen have been pretty tight-lipped, so not much to report. I think a lot of them are hitting the inland lakes judging by all the wigglers, wax worms, and spikes we're selling. I do know of a pretty hot perch bite on an inland lake, but I'd get shot if I put it on here. A good 3-5 inches of ice is being reported by most people that have been out on the bay. Hopefully the promise of cold weather this next week comes true and we can put on some serious ice. For all you pan-fishermen...we've got some really nice "russian style" tear-drops from size 10-16, perfect for perch and blue-gills. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area, get out on the ice...it's a great place to spend a day with the family!!!
