Yesterday was the first practice session at The Upper Peninsula International Raceway so I finally was able to see the race car our resort is sponsoring actually on the track. I am happy to report that the Matt Valiquette #2 IMCA Modified is lightning fast and should contend for another championship at UPIR. The car burns almost a gallon of fuel per lap and has over 600 hp. Matt was absolutely smoking the track yesterday until a u-joint snapped and the drive shaft dropped out… But better to happen during practice than during a race. “Part of practice is allowing you to find any weak links” as Matt said. The 1st race at UPIR is May 18th and I am hoping to see lots of my fishing buddies come out and help root the #2 car to victory!!!
