Hey guys, I'm heading up to BBDN for some more smallmouth action this weekend! I know most of you are into walleye and perch more than bass but I've never fished smallmouth in the summer up there, it's always been Spring and Fall. Any tips as far as depths, or do they hang out in shallow water in the bays and inlets all summer? Taking a buddy of mine who has never really fishing before...he's in for a treat. Thanks guys!

Went out last saturday and it was pretty tough. Lots of small fish. I suspect the big females are post spawn and layin low. Try shallow and if thats not workin try some deeper structure. Casting Rapalas brought the most fish for us Spinners were #2. Warmer weather may make this weekend promising for you. Good luck!
