Yesterday's charter was a fun one, I got to spend some quality time with one of my best friends from back home in Cadillac. Bruce now lives in Grand Rapids, but we sure had some good times while we were both in Cadillac. He brought up a buddy this time, and I wasn't real optimistic about the fishing, it's been quite slow this week with all the cold fronts passing, water temperature dropping, and northwest winds clearing up the water. We started trolling bottom bouncers and Walleyes Choice spinners and picked up one small keeper, then we decided to switch over to casting for pike for a few hours. We landed two nice ones and had a couple other hits doing this. It was just a little too sunny for my liking, because the pike fishing is much better with an overcast day. I then decided to go back to fishing walleyes for the last 3 hrs. because the water had warmed up a few degrees and sometimes this can turn lethargic fish on. We headed to a weedline I like to fish this time of year and the fishing was pretty decent. We started out with a nice 24 incher, then a 21 incher, and a few more eaters before it was time to head in. All the walleyes came on Walleyes Choice I-42 and I-62 harnesses. Tried other colors, but those two were what they wanted yesterday. Good luck from all of us in the Bays de Noc area.
