Thursday turned out to be an awesome day of fishing. We landed some beautiful smallies, some decent pike (biggest at 34 inches) all released to fight again someday. Then, in the evening, we had planned to do some walleye fishing down south, but there was rain and a few storms in the area. So...I had a spot I figured we could catch some fish casting crankbaits, and boy did we hammer them. My brother dropped off one of my crankbait boxes for us at the Gladstone harbor around 7:30 and by 9:30 we had caught 22 keepers and several undersized walleyes. It was non-stop action and some of the best fishing I've experienced this year so far. #7 and #8 shad raps in firetiger or silver/blue were the ticket!
