I had the chance to fish with good client, and one heck of a nice guy James Yorita, the past three days. He brought his grandson and another buddy Denny along to fish the bay. We had high winds Sunday evening and couldn't get to my good walleye spot, so all we could do was troll leadcore and shallow cranks along a sharp breakline. We did manage one 24 incher and lost another fish, but it wasn't much fun trying to control the boat in 4 footers. Monday and Tuesday we switched species and fished for perch using slip bobbers and minnows. We kept 42 on Monday, including a dandy 15 incher that's going on the wall and on Tuesday morning before they headed back home we got 28 more perch before the strong winds shut the fish off and made it hard to hold anchor too. The perch bite should only get better. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
