There are a few of us looking to make the trip to Kiplling this coming weekend for the big tournament. Probably come into town later Friday afternoon. What are the current ice conditions coming off of the Yellow gate access, and where would the best spot be to register for the tournament? Any help would be appreciated. We have about a 2 1/2-3 hours of drive time. Thanks

Word on the street is the crack off the yellow gate is to bad for trucks to cross. I think everyone is leaving from the kipling boat launch heading straight across butlers island and going to the northern tip of gladstone to cross. If your not familiar with saunders point you should be by the time you get on the ice. You can register at bay view bait and tackle.

How much snow is on the ice? Other than the pressure cracks, are trucks ok to drive everywhere?
