Today I had the opportunity to fish with long-time client Harold Holmes and his friend Irv. We didn't make it out yesterday in that wind, so today we got an early start on the fishing and the fish didn't let us down. We had 9 keepers by 9 a.m. and it took the better part of an hour to get that last one. We lost some really nice fish and released several undersized ones. Today we were trolling with Walleyes Choice harnesses behind Walleyes Choice 1 3/4 oz. bottom bouncers (http://www.walleyeschoice.com). Our best colors were the new I-99 and then I-62...which is an awesome color this time of year when the mayflies are getting ready to hatch out. This time of year I will always have at least one I-62 on to start the day and then adjust from there. After the guys got their limit, we then marked some nice schools of perch in deeper water, but we could only manage to land a few. Harold did get one of the biggest perch he's ever caught he said. Overall it was a very nice day on the water with a couple of great guys. The water is finally warming up nicely and the fish are starting to get more active. We had a water temperature of 65-66 today, hopefully it just keeps on getting warmer. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area...
