I made this last year after all the buzz about light augers.  Only problem was I powered it with a cheap drill as I didn't really need it with the gas auger.  Well now I got two new Bosch for xmas so this one is dedicated to it and does it rock....  Now I wont mind walkin with the drill to the old walleye hole.

Nice rig Schmutz!!! I'll let ya drill holes for me anytime. I know batteries don't like cold weather for keeping charge. How does that hold up for charge . Gonna need something light myself one of these years.

Honestly Slammer, I cant tell ya.  It hasn't been road tested enough to say they die sooner.  I know I have heard the same about battery life and guys putting the batt pack in the shack so this doesn't happen.  Personally in drill applications I don't find the Lithium ion batteries get a shelf life from non use or die quick in cold..  That just a drill/driver application and not a heavy load like this though.  I have a spare pack so if it is a problem I will just put the extra in the Vexilar bibs large pocket with a hand warmer.  That will make it nice and toasty for sure...
