On the 28th I had Nick and Monica out for a half day morning trip. We started out at the north end trolling harnesses, but could only manage one keeper and some undersized fish. We then went jigging and caught 7 more keepers, and Nick got a really nice pike and we lost some nice fish as well.
On the 2nd I fished with great long time friends and clients Rick and Darrell. We went jigging and got 7 on our 5 hr. morning trip. The best thing was that we found some fish in a spot where they usually start showing up this time of year and the guys went back there and did pretty good when the weather allowed.
On June 3rd and 4th I fished with Jack, Mike and Bob from neighboring Wisconsin, and we had some pretty good fishing. We trolled exclusively with Walleyes Choice (http://www.walleyeschoice.com) harnesses behind bottom bouncers and the bite was awesome. On the 3rd we had to come in early due to high winds, but on the 4th the weather allowed us to fish where we wanted and we had our 20 fish limit by 10:30 a.m.. The guys were part of a large group of 10 we had staying at the resort. Some of the guys went with Capt. Keith Wils (http://www.walleyeschoice.com) and some went with Capt. John Gudwer (http://www.luckylinefishingcharters.com) ...and all the boats did great. Many fish over the slot were released. We all tried different colors, with many working, but here's a list of the best of the best. I-51, I-68, I-76, I-80 (was best for me), and both Keith and John caught a bunch of fish on I-110, one of Keith's new colors....it's been a good one all year!
Looks like some really nice weather coming in the next few days, that should help warm up the water and the bite should start getting more consistent. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area...see you on the water!!!
