Thursday's trip with Dan Fuhs and his buddy Larry from the Chicago area was great. The only problem is the fish didn't cooperate like we had hoped. The front that moved through and the strong west winds on Wednesday dropped the water temperature and really made for some tough fishing for us. We tried jigging our weedline that's been so good the past few weeks...no luck. We then went trolling Walleyes Choice (http://www.walleyeschoice.com) harnesses in deeper water and it got a little better. We got one nice eater, but could not keep the hooks into the fish. They were biting really light and we lost a few fish doing this. The wind really kicked up and the only thing we could do was drift a sharp breakline that usually has some good fish on it this time of year. We did manage to get two more keepers here, losing a few fish as well. The company was great, and I look forward to fishing with them again someday...I just wish we had better conditions for our trip. We had to cancel yesterday's trip as well as today's due to high winds. Hopefully all this crazy weather is gone by next weekend when a couple of other Chicago area boys come up to fish with me for a week. We will be casting fools for 6 days and Lord willing...we might even catch some fish! Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
