Just a quick reminder that just because it's gotten very cold, caution is a must on the ice. A buddy tried fishing Saturday where I was last Wednesday and the couple of warm dreary days we had really did some damage to the ice. He could not fish where I did just a couple of days prior. This morning I went to the Gladstone Harbor after dropping Cam off at school...and there was still open water spots in the narrows. I could plainly see steam coming up from the open water spots, even though to the naked eye it looked completely froze over all the way across. The upper bay from Kipling north should probably be ok after this mornings below zero temperatures...just use caution and check the ice as you go. Good luck, be safe, and we will be giving some fishing updates soon

I think Hell is finally freezing over!!! I've never seen a year like this. Now that the freeze is finally here, pray for No snow to make good ice without insulating and making slush pockets!!!
The gear is ready...........new line, new trebles, raps tuned and new trebles, reals lubed, 4-wheeler ready, shack ready and repairs made, gas is fresh, and Ol One Pull ( aka, 29 year old Eskimo auger) is ready for action!!! Even bought some new ZipLoc's for freezer!!! Wishful thinking eh!!!
Slammer!!!
