2017 Opening day of walleye season...

Mixed results from the folks me, my brother, or dad, spoke to today. I know a couple guys in one cabin brought in 6 keeper walleye this morning. One guy only caught one real big one that he released. Couple other guys only caught pike and perch. But it sounds like the perch were pretty decent though. Another guy brought in two this morning. Couple other guys said they marked lots of fish, but never did get them to bite. Haven't spoke to anyone tonight as most everybody was still out the last time I looked. I think the bite will almost certainly improve once the water warms up more. We just finally had a couple warm days in a row up here. It has been cold until very recently. Will try to get some fish pictures tomorrow. I know the Brookies are biting as my nephew Joey and his friend did quite well a couple days ago. And the morels are popping too!!! Kevin Lee
