Great weekend trip!
(Preview)
We had a great trip once we got past the pontoon not starting early morning on openers, it runs great at camp just not at the launch?? maybe it's just allergic to water...lol Anyway we went back and dug the 14'er out of the back of the garage and got every thing in order, we finally got out by mid morning. Fis...

A little slower today
(Preview)
From the folks I spoke to here at the resort today, it sounds like the bite was a little tougher today. Probably too darn nice! I know the guys drifting would like to see more wind. I would say it has been 50/50 as to whether crawlers or leeches are working any better than the other. We have guests doing quit...

Weekend reports
(Preview)
The north end of the bay was far and away the best producing area for walleyes over the opening weekend. Slow trolling orange or purple crawler harnesses in 20 to 30 feet of water seemed to be the most consistent. Many guys commented that the bite didn't "turn on" until after 9:30-10:00 in th...

Hunter's Point Launch
(Preview)
Just thought I would let folks know that the Hunter's Point launch looks to be in pretty good shape. Spoke to a guy that had just loaded his boat back on the trailer and he said he had no problems.

OPENING DAY 2010
(Preview)
Well, the day started out pretty chilly with frost on the windshields of all the vehicles at the resort. The fishing for us started out cold as well. I had Dale DeWildt and his son Mark from Wisconsin with me today. Dale has fished opening d...

Big perch and LOTS of walleyes
(Preview)
Went perch fishing south of Gladstone Wednesday night. The last couple days of East wind had the fish STACKED on the first breakline! It was pretty much solid fish in 30 to 40 FOW. The perch were still a little lethargic after the last cold front, but the walters sure wanted to play! In total, I landed 24 w...

Opening Day Preview!
(Preview)
Well...it's almost time to get out on the water in search of ol' marble eyes. I think this years opener should be much better due to the earlier spawn and the warmer weather predicted for opening week. Of course that can change as we all know! I'm sure there will be plenty of tactics tried, but my favor...

slip bobbers at night?
(Preview)
Hey There Guy's, Hope all is well? I'm coming up for openers and thought that I would like to try and fish at night with slip bobbers, any idea on where and what to use, should I use minnows, crawlers or leech's. I know this is not a normal way of fishing the bay, but we now have a pontoon boat and I though...

4-23 perch report
(Preview)
Well, the "catching" was EXTREMELY good tonight! Headed back up near the Days River again. The fish had moved from a few days ago. Still in about 24 FOW, but east of the sand point. Didn't matter what you dropped down there tonight, they bit it! We caught most of them on wigglers, but minnows w...

Time for some perch jerkin'
(Preview)
I really don't know what folks are waiting for - the perch bite is on, and it is good! I haven't been out for the last week due to "trailer issues," so that's my excuse. Granted, the weather hasn't been the most cooperative lately, either. Anyway, my dad and I headed up to the Day's River area in...

4-12 perch report
(Preview)
Made my first perch trip for the season, today. Been hearing plenty of good reports from Indian Lake and Garden Bay over the last couple weeks, but nobody as really mentioned fishing the bay lately. If they were biting nearby, it stands to reason they should be biting here, too. Launched at Kipling at 5...

Ice out, Perch, Steelhead...
(Preview)
I just took a look at the bay and I would say the ice will be fully gone with-in a day or so. Maybe even today if the wind picks up. The ice sheet pushed south yesterday and lots of it did break up, but still some out there. The winds are supposed to switch to the southeast this afternoon so that might blow out...
