We had a great trip once we got past the pontoon not starting early morning on openers, it runs great at camp just not at the launch?? maybe it's just allergic to water...lol Anyway we went back and dug the 14'er out of the back of the garage and got every thing in order, we finally got out by mid morning. Fishing two bigger guys and all of our gear out of that 14'er was like having 10lbs of crap in a 5lb sack...lol, but it's all good because we were out fishing! on with the report we had 10 guy's in our group and the count at the end of the weekend was 38 keepers with many 13" - 14" eyes being caught as well. Yellow floater with yellow and orange blade was our best combo with green on green floater being second. we fished long and hard only stopping for our 2nd annual openers fish fry. We had fried Crappies, roasted corn, salads and finished it off with a great Dutch oven peach cobbler, Yum Yum! We all had fun and just wanted to say thank you once again to all of our new and old friends up in the U.P. No fish pictures but here's one of our crew enjoying the fish fry. Chris and Diane from bay view bait and tackle and of coarse Kevin/Ken and crew at Sall-Mars Resort, once again you guy's are so helpfull and always have the welcome mat out for us when needed...you Guy's rock! .....Sorry I can't load our picture?

It was good to see you as always buddy. Glad to hear you caught some fish too since you had to deal with all that "ballast" in the smaller boat... The past couple days, (and today so-far) though, have had a much tougher bite. I think we need some south winds to get the fish active again. Guest Jim Clausen said the water temperature at the north end hit 60 degrees yesterday (that's a good thing). Just need some wind!!! At this point, Jim says he'll take wind from any direction since he loves to drift.
