Any recent ice reports?

The satellite images from MODIS show open water on 12/15 but as of 12/15 it appears that the bay from the narrows north is locked in.  Weather reports below 0 temps right now.  Any reports of safe ice off the east side off Vagabond?  Thinking of checking it out maybe Saturday afternoon and wondering if I should tow a trailer or not.

Thanks-

Saw a bunch of portables around Kipling today, but nothing on the East side that I could see. Sure somebody will venture out that way this weekend.

Went for a ride last Saturday, saw some permanent shanties in the northeast corner of the bay and know of one snowmobile that was out there, but the ice was only 2 1/2 to 3 inches.  Should be more ice now, might take a walk with the spud to check it this afternoon.  Starting to get withdrawals...

Ran to McDonalds for breakfast. On the way back I saw a permanent shanty with a quad parked next to it way out in the middle. More or less in the direction of the east side of 3rd Reef or the southern tip of Center Reef. I hope to check the ice tomorrow and will report what I find...

Also, looking out from the McDonalds at Gladstone, it looked like most of the southern half of the bay had froze over too...

The bay south of Gladstone was still mostly open water yesterday, so take it easy folks. Reports at the shop today were 4 to 7 inches of ice on the north end. Good black ice. Quads and sleds crossing the bay from the yellow gate.
