Here is a "letter to the editor" from todays Escanaba Daily Press. I'm not sure if I could have said it any better. In regards to the school board meeting where this decision was rendered, can you believe the owner of a restaurant here in Rapid River actually stood up in support of Mr. Schwartz! Needless to say, neither I or any of my family will ever patronize that restaurant again...
Well put,I know last year we didn't do all that well and I hope that's not the reason. No matter what we will still be up there in three weeks to fish for walters and whatever else wants to eat. If anything it's always nice just to relax, fish and spend time with good people. See you all soon. Cliffy.

I think last years "less than stellar walleye fishing" can be attributed more to the cold summer and resulting cold water temperatures than anything else. I'm not denying that the netters had an impact on the fishery. But we still have a bunch of walleye in these waters. The bite was much better this year and is a prime example of what 75-80 degree water does for you and why both my brother and I love hot summers!!! My brother Kenneth actually had a pretty damn good season on his charters. The warmer the water, the more the fish have to eat because they digest their food as fast as they eat it. So I don't know, maybe global warming (if true) is not such a bad thing. Just kidding...
Good thing you put the (if true) in there...otherwise I'd really be givin' it to ya bro'. Yes...it was a good summer for fishing, I wish we could go back to July and August and the warm weather. September has been the worst weather we've seen in a long time and it's sure got the fish in a funk. Let's hope October is much better. Here's a link to Sag. Bay...looks like it's been terrible fishing down there for over 2 months.
