Yesterday we had Jay from Hardwood Michigan and Joe from Neighboring Wisconsin aboard.  We headed out of the Gladstone Yacht Harbor around 1 p.m. and headed to the north end where the water is still nice and dirty.  On our fist pass trolling Walleyes Choice (http://www.walleyeschoice.com) harnesses behind bottom bouncers over a narrow reef we lost three nice fish and caught a jumbo perch.  We then moved to some shallower weeds and pulled spinners over the weed tops.  Here we caught another jumbo perch and two keeper walleyes and lost three keeper walleyes.   They were biting very light...but at least they were biting a little, which is better than it has been.  Most bites were coming on I-62 or I-76.  We probably should have stayed and fished the weeds all afternoon, I'm sure we could have plucked a few more fish out of there, but we made a big move south and decided to troll crankbaits over some structure.  We caught two nice fish at 20 and 22 inches and lost a pig right behind the boat, and that was it!  Not the best day on the water, but it seems like the fish might be slowly coming out of the funk they've been in for the last few weeks.  With nice weather coming in for a few days, this might be what it takes to get them going again.  Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
