Yesterday's trip with Gary and Roy started out great, we had just got all the lines in the water, and were on our first trolling pass with Walleyes Choice harnesses when Roy pulled in a nice 18 incher. Our hooking percentage then went downhill fast. We lost the next three fish and had a few bites, but the bites were very subtle. We then fished a weedline that's usually really good this time of year and we didn't have a bite there. We then headed to some deeper water, but all we could get were perch. I decided that we'd make a big move south and get out the leadcore and crankbaits. We managed to get three nice northerns and a keeper walleye doing this before we made another move to troll deep diving crankbaits over some rock piles just after dark. We caught a beautiful walleye, and were marking lots of fish, but they definitely weren't on fire. Then an outside board sunk...and never came up! Gary had the fun of bringing in a beautiful 30 1/2 inch walleye that we released after a few quick pictures. Not a great day on the water, but I had fun with a couple of great guys. I think if we can get some consistent weather the bite will pick up. We had three different wind directions yesterday, and that's never good for the bite. Here's a few pics of our trip, good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
