Little Bay de Noc Fishing Reports

Had a chance to fish with my good friend Capt. Jay Nieman this past weekend.  We hit the ice pretty hard for the last 4 days and did very well on the perch during the day and caught a few "eyes" a couple of evenings too.  By far the best bait as far as putting numbers of nice fish on the ice was the firetiger "slayer" tipped with either a minnow head or spike.  It's a Hali-Style jig that we produce and sell on our ice darter site (http://www.icedarter.net).  We've also been testing out some new colors of Ice Darters.  I had some baits with some paint chips, so I scraped the paint off and did some powder painting.  I had to make my brother's favorite (Red Squiggle) and a few purples for me.  The candy purple and the purple demon have been my best so far.  We're still not sure if we'll make these colors for next year, we're working out the details.  Overall, we had a great weekend...good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
