Last hurrah and conundrums!!!

I went out a little earlier today because I went to a spot that, in the past, I have caught some nice perch during the day and then walleye at "primetime". I started off drilling several holes to make sure I was exactly where I wanted to be. When I went to drill my last hole, the pull start cord broke on my auger. While drilling holes, my left foot got soaked, so I must have a leak in my boot too.  Then my graph crapped out on me for the last half hour of the day. Good thing today was the last day!!! Anyway, I caught a nice perch just a few minutes after I got set up. But then it was deadsville for quite some time. Finally got to "primetime" and really started marking a lot of fish, but I could not get them to bite to save my life. Even broke out the planer boards today, but they were worthless too. I finally caught one about 16 inches on a spoon tipped with a gulp minnow. Then awhile later an 18 1/2 incher on a jigging rap and that was it. At least I didn't get skunked...

I learned a lesson last night.  When you catch your limit fish at 6:15 P.M., keep it and go home.  I ended up throwing a 15 1/8 incher back cause they were biting decent.  After that, missed the next five bites and they shut off for the night.

Hey Kevin,
I  think I fell a sleep in my shack a couple times too!!!.  Got out there earlier yesterday because on monday we were marking fish early from 4:30 right till dark and had a great night.  So ,  not wanting to miss anything we were set up by 2:30-3:00 and sat there getting a stiff back not marking a thing. What a change in fish attitude.  Hardly marked anything until 6:30 or so and then it was on.  Marking lots of fish but all lookers and sniffers until.................. I found the hot lure of the day.  Have never caught a fish on this lure before so it always sits in the corner of my tackle box begging for chance to be used , kinda like the kid that doesn't want to be picked last on a team. no Well,  O K , let's see what ya got kid .  Low and behold , it was his time to shine.  Ended up catching  I believe 19 walleyes in about an hour and 15 minutes. Fast and furious for a while.  Although they were running small  I managed 4 keepers and I believe 15 dinks.  Lost quite a few too. Just couldn't bring that 5th one home.
Went from famine to feast in a hurry.  Sad part was , nobody around me caught anything , but was marking quite a few.  Great way to end the season.
Oh yeah,  almost forgot to tell you who I picked last to be on my team..............
why if it wasn't little ol'...................Chartruese orange tiger ICE DARTER !!!!!!
Just like little Casey hitting a home run.  Gonna have to move him to a different corner in the ol box.   Thanks  Boys!!!
Well, now that that's over , it's on to bigger and burbot things. We still gotta hook up and go get us some.   Later!!!
Slammer!!!
