Spent yesterday with my daughter Noel, and boy did we have a great day. We started out by fishing for perch at one of our "shore" spots and we caught enough nice ones for a good meal. Biggest perch was around 12 inches, it came on a minnow, but most of them were caught with leafworms. Then we went to check out some local rivers to see if we could see some salmon. We came upon a couple that were getting ready to spawn and we also saw a giant Golden Eagle eating a dead salmon. It was a great opportunity to explain the life cycle of the salmon to Noel, how they go upstream and spawn to make more, then they die, which gives other animals food, etc.. She thought that was pretty neat. Better get out there and enjoy this nice weather...there's lots of fun things to do!
