I'm really getting antsy to get on the ice, so I went back and checked to see when my wife and I got on the ice for the first time last year. How cow, just a little over a month from today (yippee). I can hardly wait!!!

Ya know... I recently bought a Nils auger package and I'm anxious to make snow cone filling real soon.  So the purples are pretty much a staple up there all year huh? What do the perch like when the water solidifies?

And that was the 16th of December!?    I can't wait.

Damn you guys !!!
I'm all packed up and heading to camp for two weeks of beer hunting and was planning on getting a good nights sleep, and then I read this post and watch the video that you Bastages posted , and now I could care less about hunting and can't wait to drop a line down a hole. Although, there will be a few big walleye and perch frys out at camp, along with a special appetizer of lightly dusted and fried
Lawyer with a light lemon/lime aioli.........Damnnnn!!!!
Good luck hunting you guys and girls , be safe , and hope to see you on the ice .
Slammer!!!

Loved watching that.. thanks! Water temps seem to be a little colder this year from what I remember last year at this time.  Wouldnt mind at all, seeing ice starting to form out there real soon!

Just checked my fishing journal. My last day in the boat was Nov. 10th last year. Water temps were 44 to 46 degrees, (same as now.) My first trip on the ice was Dec. 15th. Caught two walleyes that trip.

Let's hope the ice formation keeps on track, or even comes a little sooner this year!

The few posters we have here are GREAT. Just think of how good a site this would be if even half posted here.

Thanks Chris.... My last day in the boat last year was Nov 15th, off Black bottom, and i had 51-53 that day for surf temps. Put the boat away a little earlier this year as I had more time to prep, and Hunt, this deer season.
