Went out on BBDN this afternoon for a few hours but didn't get much. I ended up with 3 really nice perch. I also caught quit a few smaller ones that I through back. I marked lots of perch that I couldn't get to bite. The ones that did bite would bite so soft you could hardly feel them.I also hooked into a slab lawer and fought him on 3# line for about 10 minutes. I had his head coming through the hole and he even broke the surface when my line broke. Needless to say I lost him and a #00 Tangerine Tiger Moonshine Shiver minnow. I was pissed....lol That was what I was getting my perch on tipped with a minnow head.
Boy do I know this story... A buddy and I came up with this contraption.. (just a 1/4" rod with a big trebble welded to it with barb knocked down) One end for gaf other for removing hook from unwanted fish. Have got sturgeon with five jiggin raps in up that were freed up and released without removing from water. One even had a sock snagged in the hook in it's mouth and couldn't eat. removed um and released.. It works slick. Everyone asks where I got it and I don't know how many hands have been on it... works great..

What, you lost a Burbot! For shame, for shame!!! Fresh Burbot sounds real good right now. Like they say, a bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work!
Yea, it looks crude but functions way better than any gaff I have ever bought with a single hook...especially for removing hooks as stated... tight lines
