Captain Keith Wils sent me some of the new lures he makes for me to try. They were the Double Truble Jigs in the 1 oz. size. I took them out and gave them a test ride on BBDN for whitefish. First off I put the black one on and tipped it with a minnow head on one end and a minnow tail on the other end. I only fished for about ten minutes and hit something solid. The way it hit and stayed on the bottom told me it was a burbot. I landed that one and with in the next hour I iced three more on the black jig. I figured I had to change lures and bait so a switched to the pearl one and tipped it with three wax worms threaded on each hook. It was game on...In the next few hours I iced four nice whitefish and lost four others. Along with those I also lost four other burbots. So I would have to give the Double Trouble jigs a BIG thumbs Up.

Well you kicked some butt today, eh!!! Glad to see those new DoubleTrouble jigs paying off for you. I wondered if they might be good for Whitefish. They just look like an awesome bait to be able to pound the bottom with. I have been told many times that pounding the bottom and stirring things up really drives the Whitefish nuts. Did you pound the bottom a lot with them??? Great report Tom! Thanks...
Nice Job Tomjohn. It looks like your hookups are quite deep in the mouth of the fish. I have no idea what colors Whitefish like so its up to you to let us all know.
Keith
