Started the day fishing Big Bay for Perch. Started off pretty good but then slow real fast. Kept 5 keepers and then went back to the cabin. Pack up the walleye gear and went off of hunters. Made my way, way south which was a first for me.
Drove on to the point to get past the dangerous spot at Saunders. Looks like I was the first to travel this way. Which I will say had my heart pounding the entire time. Not use to being the first to go a certain direction. Later in the day. I seen a few come from the east. Not sure if their is a road there or if they are coming from their cabin. If anyone can message me or private message me about a spot to get to Black bottom from east side stonnington. My cabin is on east side so it would be really great if someone can help me out. Coming from hunters is long atv drive and I hate going near Suanders point. thanks.
Back to the report. For the life of me I couldn't find the 35 ft hole I wanted. Even with the lake master chip. Should of mark it on the boat during the summer. Finally set up in 30ft east bank. A few guys were much further south of me on the bend. I had about 8 inchs of ice which is big change of pace compared to the ice on Big Bay which is really thick.
mark a few fish and then before dark miss two and caught one 18 incher. The bite lasted a whole 5 minutes and then they were gone.
