Not much luck lately

Action has been slow for me no matter where I fish this year.  Esky harbor has been hit or miss (mostly miss) in 10ft. - 14ft, baiting with perch minnows and 2 inchers on #6 aberdeens has given me some luck with perch and northerns. Todays trip brought me just west of Butler's Island on Little Bay De Noc, fishing 10ft-12ft of water.  I was trying to find 20ft-30ft but got sick of dragging my gear around so I stayed put.  No bites all day untill about 6p.m.  Lost a 3inch minnow on my treble set up but landed a 26inch pike just after dark.  I'm not asking for anyone to give away their biggest fishing secrets, but some tips on locations would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks y'all, good luck.

The bite really seems to have dropped off the past few days. Some guys who stayed with us over the weekend had been catching their limits of walleye pretty much every time out on previous trips, but I think they averaged only two keepers per person this past weekend (so don't feel bad).

I have heard pretty much the same. I'm going to deeper water today. I'm gonna try either the Municipal Dock in Esky, or the mouth of the harbor. Most of my luck (anywhere) has been on a barebones, #6 aberdeen with 2 inch or perch minnows. Horizontal presentations seem to work for me as far as jigs go. Genz worms and Ratt Finkies in orange or chartruesse have a high success rate. There are nice drop offs at both spots with moderate weed and rock cover at 20ft. to 35ft. I can't stare through a hole in 10ft. of water anymore! You can see all these really nice sized perch and some hog pike in the harbor but nothing biting. Full moon tonight. Maybe that'll get em biting! I'll post results later this evening. Have fun out there guys and gals! More importantly, BE SAFE!
