Fished all day Monday with 3 friends from 7am to 7pm and found the bite to be really tough. Started the morning by walking off the Terrace and fished from 30 to 40 ft of water. Caught one 14" eye and only had a handful of marks between the group. Left there at 9 to try the north bay for some perch where we've had some luck in past years. Fished from 22 to 30 feet between first and second reef and only marked one fish in 45 minutes. Then went East to deeper mud area trying two spots in 30 to 38 feet and only had a couple of quality marks in a couple hours of fishing here, did have a few small marks and got one 9" perch. Next headed north of the Vagabond in 24 ft for another hour with no marks. Moved further noth to just south east of Days River and found plenty of small perch around 16 ft, but didn't have one quality mark in an hour of fishing. Biggest perch was 8" out of the 4 we caught. Around 3pm we moved south off Hunters Point and tried deeper water around 40 feet with no marks. Moved in to a flat and fished from 29 to 32 ft. Marked our first fish of the evening at 6pm and landed a 17" eye. Caught a 14.5" at 6:30 and got a final 20" eye at 6:45 on a tip up. Between 4 guys jigging for 12 hours we only had 10 or so quality marks. We were primarily using jigging raps, 7's and 9's for the walleye and 3's and smaller for the perch. Everyone we talked to shared similar results. Number of marks are down considerably from what we saw last year. Maybe it has been an off year for us or the large schools of fish are yet to make there way into the bay. Anyway, hope this can help others rule out some unproductive water.
