As i was ending my fishing last night I happened to watch as a truck drove right into the crack that runs east and west straight out from the Vagabond. It looked as though the whole back end and front left were submerged. The driver did make it out alright. To make matters worse, one of the people who was with this party, drives 50 yds east and tries to jump the crack as well. He luckily made it, but man this was quite a scary ordeal to watch. People need to be aware of the surroundings and the dangers that are on the ice!!!!! Reason why I fish every weekend and talk with Kevin and other parties is to protect my safety. I am not sure how everything panned out as we left the ice after verifying nobody was hurt.
My fishing report is that the morning stunk with little to no marks and zero fish. My fishing partner and I ended up with 9 total jigging at night. 16" to 22". #7 glow hot perch caught 7 of the 9 keepers.
Thanks for the report Todd. Glad you caught some fish too. I had heard a couple trucks went through yesterday. Just thinking about that scares the living heck out of me!!!
The landing at Vagabond is getting pretty rough. Once you get on the ice the conditions are pretty good. Probably about 8 inches of wet, heavy snow. Stay away from the cracks and it is nice going. That is out of Vagabond. Not sure what it is like from Kipling or Gladstone.
Tomjohn - You said what I didn't have the intestinal fortitude to say on here!!!! It was unreal to watch the second truck basically do the same thing. That is what officially made them idiots in my mind.
