Kenneth and his clients Jeff and Patrick fished for smallmouth bass for awhile today on Big Bay de Noc. They caught some really nice fish today, but I think they all went off the deep end. I don't know if they got too much sun the past few days or what...

Nice Job Ken. And might I add, what a beautiful hat you have on also...   You look like a true Pro and your fishing proves it... cudo's......  Schmutz..

Yup...figured that the hat would bring me some good luck, sure enough it did!  Had a fun week again with Patrick and Jeff from the Chicago area.  Weather could have been a little better, but you have to work with what you're dealt.  Pike fishing was way off this year, and the smallies averaged much higher in size this year, but quantity was down.  Saw so many smallies over 18 inches that wouldn't bite...very frustrating.  Patrick did get a 20 1/2 and a 20 3/4 this year, the larger one going on the wall.  Drop shotting an 8 inch black worm caught Patrick's two largest fish.  Casting out, twitching it back to the boat triggered the fish.  Jeff caught a huge one in Big Bay using this technique too.  You gotta love the fight that the smallies give you in 70 degree water.  One of Patrick's fish Friday gave us the best aerial act I've seen in a long time.  The fish must have jumped two feet out of the water on it's initial jump!  Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.

Are you launching at Nahma? Haven't been over there yet this year, wondering what kind of shape the water at the end was in. Thanks. Frank

Had to launch at Garden Bay because of the wind, haven't launched at Nahma since late June I think it was, so I'm not sure what it's like right now.  I have been told it's pretty sloppy and weed infested, but not sure of depth at the end.
