I had posted on some other sites about a new tournament series possibly happening next summer geared towards families and just realized I didn't post on our own site!!! Some days.... Any and all feedback is appreciated. We have already decided to probably fish all 4 species at each tourney. So look at the info below and please post your thoughts and ideas. Thanks...
I’m interested in hearing some opinions and thoughts on the following. Some folks up here are thinking about having a series of family oriented fishing tournaments next summer. The series will be called the Little Bay de Noc Grand Slam Series. There will be 4 tourneys total and 4 catogories at each tourney (pike, walleye, smallmouth bass, and perch). The fishing will be restricted to the waters of Little Bay de Noc only with the southern boundary most likely to be from the Escanaba Yacht Harbor across to the Stonington boat launch. This will negate any advantage larger boats have of being able to just go after the bigger fish out in Green Bay. We want folks with all sizes of boats to have a decent shot at winning! All the tournaments will be held on a Saturday while the kids are out of school and the registration fee will be just $50.00 per boat (probably less). The tournaments will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm making it a family friendly format for those with kids. Like I said, I’m looking for some feedback on this before anything more concrete is put into place. So please give it some thought and let me know what you think. Is this something you would be interested in? Is this something you could see yourself bringing your family to? Might you make a weekend of it staying Friday and Saturday nights? These are all questions I would like some input on. Thanks to all those that give feedback…
I think the idea of a family tournament is a great idea. My kids are geting older and want to fish so its hard to get away to do some of the other tournies that I would normally do. I am part of the Church Tackel Pro staff so if You get some thing set up I can talk to them and see about helping out.
