1st Whitefish venture of the year...

I have been waiting for this day since last ice season and it finally came today.

With not much ice around I had to walk out pulling my Clam Yukon. Damn that

thing is isn't light going up and down hills. Ater I got set up it seemed like there

was no fish in the area but low and behold they startd showing up. I ended up

landing six whitefish and lost three more. All the fish were on Keith Wils 1/4oz

pearl double trouble lure.

Nice job Tom. Put together this little sled today for just easy quick run or run and gun mission. Take seat off and put vex in bucket and rod bag behind seat and you are good to go for quick trips.

Tom,

Refresh my memory....are the hooks on all size Double Trouble jigs the same size?

I bought a 3/4 oz. last year and don't recall. Not sure if I wanna go down a size or not now. Have to see what the current is doing I guess.

The bigger jigs have bigger hooks. With no or not much current
I like the 1/4oz pearl one. I have iced a lot of whithfish with it.
Don't get me wrong, the bigger ones still catch their share of fish
and are better for heavy current.
