Same here, P-Line.  I use it  on my tip-ups as well as jigging rods.

i like using berkley vanish or 100% flourocarbon,  and the smaller the hook, the more likely you are to get a good hook set.  i will even use a stinger hook with the bigger minnows.

I use 17 pound flourocarbon on my tip-ups (when I use them). Don't hardly use them anymore...

Haff,

I tried to respond to you, but couldn't through PM.

I usually just use 8lb. for tip ups on the bay.  In other instances, I go down to 4 or 6.  I have thought about stepping up to 12lb at times though. I've never had an issue with 8 though unless pike are in the area.

I'm a big steelhead fisherman in the spring and I have used the green Halo for that application. I wasn't impressed with it and went back to the clear. It gave me piece of mind too. I steelhead fish clear water, stained water, green water, cloudy water etc and always come back to clear no matter what the conditions. I do quite a bit if steelhead fly fishing too and a lot of guys love the Seaguar. I absolutely hated it. Not sure if I got a bad spool or what, but it seems a little cloudy and breaks 10x easier...usually at the net.

Hope that helps!

P.S. been using P-Line exclusively for eight years...aside from a spool or Seaguar.

For repeatability I use this.  Changes color every five ft.
