Got an email from the DNR (thanks DNR) about ice breaking in the Escanaba Area.

GREEN BAY ICE BREAKING OPERATIONS

U.S. Coast Guard reports ice breaking operations will commence on 17 February in Little Bay De Noc down into Northern Green Bay and return on or about 22 .  The area of operations will be from Escanaba iron ore docks south out to Rock Island Passage. All ice fishermen should remove their ice shacks and equipment from these areas. Snowmobile, All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) operators, and other recreational users of the ice should avoid shipping channels, plan their activity carefully, and use caution near the ice. Further inquiries or specific questions regarding the exact timing of this event can be made by phone to Sault Vessel Traffic at (906) 635-3232 or via email at SOOTFC@USCG.MIL.
