Yesterday we ended the week with a nice fish fry that included some pike, walleye and perch from the beginning of the week.  I made some fresh zucchini bread in the morning, and my wife was nice enough to make a home-made blueberry pie.  And let me tell you...after the feast it would have been easy to take a nice nap, but we had plans for fishing.  Unfortunately the north winds were blowing about 25 mph and we were very limited to where we could fish.  We did go fishing and landed some pike, biggest around 33 inches.  The winds finally laid down enough to get back out and try for some more walleyes casting crankbaits.  The action wasn't as fast and furious as the night before, but there were enough fish still active and we ended up landing 13 beauties.  And that was it, our week was done, and a good one it was.  Nice weather was the key I believe to the good fishing.  Time sure flies when you're having fun!!!  Charlie hadn't been able to make it for a few years, so it was really, really nice having him in the boat again.  It's a blast watching him catch all those nice "weeds" (inside joke).
