Today I fished with one of my old neighbors from Cadillac, Ivan Robertson and his buddy Kevin. We got on the water around 6:30 a.m. and headed to the north end where the bite's been pretty decent recently. However, after seeing a water temperature of 56 degrees...about 10 degrees colder than it had been, I knew that it was going to be tough. We pulled spinners for a while before I made the decision to go find some warmer water. We found some warmer water along a weedline, got out the jigs, and soon it was fish-on!!! We finished out the 5 hr. morning trip with 13 really nice walleyes and some bonus perch. I was very impressed with the average size of the fish today too...we had some very nice walleyes up to 24 inches. We released a pike and some undersized walleyes as well. It just shows you that sometimes you have to go to plan B...and hope it works. It doesn't always work...but today persistence paid off. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
